Description
The Set of Coloured Sheer scarves are an excellent addition to Nursery and Early Years classrooms.
The set includes a variety of 10 coloured scarves that are lightweight and suitable for use during music and dance activities, encouraging children to wave and twirl the scarves. This type of physical play supports the rotational schema. Children will enjoy spinning and twirling the scarf or watching how it spirals when dropped. These repetitive movements help children make sense of their body’s movement in space, and understanding of cause and effect.
Introduce the scarves into the Small World area for children to use as scenery. Use yellow scarves as sand for Desert Animals and green scarves with accompanying Forest Scenery to recreate forests for British Wildlife Animals, or a jungle for Jungle Animals. The blue scarves would be perfect for recreating sea scenery for sea animals, or add a Pirate Boat and Pirate Set to create pirate play adventures - the creative possibilities are endless!
The sheer scarves are also an excellent addition to sensory areas. The soft, light texture of the scarves may support children with tactile sensory needs as they feel and move the fabric between their fingers or use the scarves to brush over their skin. The scarves are also useful for exploring colour and tone. Children will enjoy layering up the lightweight scarves to create new colours, which can be made more vibrant when placed on an A3 Lightboard.
