Introduce a variety of resources and opportunities for oral storytelling to support children’s communication skills with this Set of Plastic People.
Including nine brightly coloured plastic people figures, this Set of Plastic People are a diverse small world enhancement for early years classrooms. The figures represent a mix of genders, ethnicities, and hair styles. They are easy to keep clean and are a suitable size for young children to grasp and move around. The Set of Plastic People will help children to represent themselves and their familiar people through story making, supporting oral language development and acquisition of new vocabulary.
When used within the Water Area children will enjoy creating stories with the characters by placing them in tug boats and ships, as well as making them swim. Children may explore scientific concepts by placing them into other water containers such as beakers and buckets to see how many fit and to find out whether they float or sink. Children will enjoy playing with them in the Sand Area to recreate trips to the seaside or holidays as they build using the Sand Castles and Towers Moulds, or create caves and dens using the Set of Wood Pieces and Mixed Wood. They are also an excellent enhancement to the Set of Construction Vehicles to bring storytelling to life.
