The bag also contains two engaging books that encourage storytelling and early language development, encourage children to use the wooden animal figures as props to bring storybooks to life.
Use the pet figures to spark conversations with young children. Discuss the names of the pets, what sounds they make and how they move. Young children will especially enjoy recreating the sounds animals make including cat ‘meows’ and acting out different types of dogs barking. Extend learning by using the soft dog and rabbit toys to role-play different pet scenarios such as feeding them, stroking to show affection and brushing their fur. This develops children’s understanding of taking care of animals and develops a sense of empathy.
Challenge children to use the coloured building blocks to colour match, for example, matching the blocks to the colours of items around the home.
