Introduce the Visual and Movement Sensory Collection to provide a range of movement resources and liquid timers to support children’s sensory exploration and self-regulation.
Each resource has been carefully selected by our curriculum team to offer children a variety of movement-based experiences using different materials and motions.
The oil timers, which take approximately 2 minutes for the oil to travel from top to bottom, support children in visually understanding the passing of time in a colourful and calming way. Use the oil timers to help signal that an activity is about to end, allowing children to prepare for transitions visually and manage change with greater ease - supporting both emotional regulation and sensory integration.
The easy-hold glow liquid timers feature fast-moving liquid that flows continuously as children turn and twist the timer, providing a calming and engaging visual experience. Pair with an A3 Lightboard to examine how the material glows when laid flat for an additional sensory experience. Observe how the glowing material becomes more vibrant at the bottom of the panel when stood upright, and softer when laid flat as the liquid spreads more evenly. This encourages children to explore light, colour, and movement in a hands-on, sensory-rich way.
The 2 anti-gravity sand timers are bound to capture children’s curiosity as the sand appears to defy gravity, moving upwards instead of down - offering a fascinating and unique way for children to explore the passing of time.
The gloop tube is an excellent resource to support self-regulation and concentration. As children observe the gloop falling in large drops or smooth, continuous streams, they are drawn into the unpredictable patterns of movement. Each turn reveals a different visual experience, keeping the resource fresh, engaging, and calming.
The collection includes a natural woven striped basket to contain the sensory resources.
