Description

Enhance early years sensory learning with the Wet Sand Resource Collection 1-2yrs. This carefully curated set has been designed by Early Excellence curriculum specialists to support young children as they explore sand through rich, tactile experiences. The collection creates an engaging and purposeful area for early exploration, discovery and independent investigation.

The sand resources are sized for small hands, lightweight and easy to grasp and support children develop motor skills, while exploring the sensory benefits that sand play offers. Using the sand stampers, moulds and vehicles they can explore changes in the texture and pattern of the sand, while the buckets, trowel, rake and spades support early schematic play of filling and emptying. These repeated actions support early cause-and-effect understanding as children explore how moveable materials behave and respond. Using high quality resources that children can revisit time and time again will support children to explore simple connections and engage in early communication as they play alongside their peers, observe, and engage in simple turn taking.

Children will enjoy the imaginary play that the collection offers as they use the people figures, animals and vehicles to begin early imaginative play and storytelling, creating opportunities for practitioners to support youngest learners language development.

Children can extend their investigations by exploring other Early Excellence 1-2yrs Resources, such as the Dry Sand Resource Collection 1-2yrs and the Water Resource Collection 1-2yrs to offer a wider range of open-ended experiences.
