Enhance your early years water area with the Water Play Resource Collection 1-2yrs. This carefully curated set has been designed by Early Excellence curriculum specialists to support young children as they explore water through rich, sensory learning experiences. The collection encourages curiosity, discovery and independent exploration.
The open-ended water resources are sized and shaped for very young hands, with easy-grip handles and lightweight materials to support accuracy when tipping, pouring and filling. As children experiment with emptying, filling and transporting water from one place to another and observing how water moves, they begin to develop early cause-and-effect understanding and exercise the transporting schema and filling and emptying schema. The varied sizes of jugs and buckets encourage children to explore early mathematical concepts such as big, small, bigger and smaller through real, meaningful experiences.
The Water Resource Collection 1–2yrs also supports early scientific exploration, introducing simple ideas of floating and sinking as children play with water and objects. Repeating these activities helps children learn from watching, doing and trying.
Designed to encourage shared exploration and early social interaction, the resources provide a space for children to play alongside others, observe, imitate and engage in simple turn-taking. Familiar, everyday tools help children explore and experiment, supporting early understanding of how things work in the world around them.
